🏆 Don’t have time to read the whole article? I recommend booking Oarsman’s Bay Lodge – it’s a beautiful and well-priced option

I spent a month in Fiji volunteering and island hopping in this region and have all the details on the top places to stay.

So whether you want a luxury all-inclusive resort or something more authentic, I’ve got you covered. Keep reading for the best Yasawa Islands resorts for couples that you’ll want to book ASAP!

What to expect from a Yasawa Island resort

The Yasawa Islands region is one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited. There are no roads, no cars, no shops and no rush… It’s perfect for living your best island life.

A lot of the charm comes from the resorts you can stay in. There are some high-end options in the Yasawas, but you’ll also find that many of the accommodation options are more stripped back and authentic. The focus is more on the paradise setting.

The Yasawa Islands is also where you can stay in a private bure which is a traditional Fijian bungalow or villa. Often these are on the beach, just metres from the sea 😍

First on the list (and my top choice) is Oarsman’s Bay. So many people have great things to say about booking Oarsman’s Bay Lodge and it’s easy to see why. This is an adults-only Yasawa Islands Fiji resort that’s simple yet beautiful and has everything you need for your best island life!

The staff are amazing and are totally invested in Oarsman Bay & the experience that they want their guests to have.” – Janet (see more reviews)

Most Yasawa Islands resorts have picture-perfect settings and Oarsman’s Bay is no exception. Located on a pristine beach, fringed by turquoise waters and backed by hilly terrain, it’s a breathtaking place for a dream Fiji vacation.

With only 13 bures, it’s also an intimate and relaxed option where you’ll feel far removed from the busyness of normal life.

Your choice of accommodation includes beachfront bures and studios as well as a small shared dorm for those travelling on a budget. However, I recommend opting for the largest ‘Vale Levu’ bure which is perfect for a honeymoon.

How do I get from Nadi to the Yasawa Islands?

There are several ways to get from Nadi to the Yasawa Islands. A popular way is to catch the Yasawa Flyer ferry which leaves once a day from Port Denarau. You can also opt for transfers or a private charter by seaplane or helicopter.

Is it better to stay on the main island in Fiji?

I don’t recommend spending your entire trip to Fiji on the main island unless you’re limited on time. The beaches on the outer islands are way more beautiful and it’s worth the travel to get there. If you’re staying in Fiji for a shorter getaway, consider the Mamanuca Islands, which are closer to Nadi.

What is the best island in Fiji for couples?

As a super romantic, picture-perfect destination, it’s hard to pick a favourite island in Fiji. However, private island resorts like Turtle Island are brilliant for couples. The Mamanucas also have islands for couples with romantic, luxury resorts like Likuliku Lagoon Resort and Tokoriki Island Resort

Is it best to go all-inclusive in Fiji?

All-inclusive options are great in Fiji if you want everything taken care of. There are amazing all-inclusive resorts in Fiji like Turtle Island. You’ll also find that many remote resorts, particularly in the Yasawas, offer a compulsory meal plan, which usually covers three meals a day.

What are the best and worst months to go to Fiji?

Fiji can be visited year-round but the best time to visit is during the peak, dry season from May to October. This is when you can expect lovely temperatures and sunny weather. During Fiji’s wet season (November to April) you might get heavy tropical storms and cyclones.

How many days is ideal for Fiji?

I recommend no less than 7 days in Fiji – and ideally longer! There’s a lot to experience in Fiji so you won’t get bored.. and when you take into account the travel time, you want to leave enough time to relax and soak it all in.

Are the Mamanuca or Yasawa Islands better?

The Mamanuca and Yasawa island groups are both beautiful. I found that the Yasawas were a lot more remote and rugged and I was blown away by the beaches – they give desert island vibes.

However, the Mamanucas are equally beautiful and have a brilliant choice of luxury resorts. The Mamanucas are also easier to reach from Nadi and Denarau. If you have the time, you could go island hopping and visit both (which is what I did)!
