Planning a November honeymoon and want inspiration? Whether you’re marrying in November or you’re choosing this month for a honeymoon later in the year – November is a great time to get away.

If you want to avoid the cold days of fall, you have tons of choices for a sun-soaked break. Places like the Maldives and Mauritius are great in November, but there are options for an adventurous honeymoon, too!

So if you want to find the best places to go in November – you’re in the right place! From America to Australia, here are the best November honeymoon destinations to get booking right away!

1 South Africa

A view across the city of Cape Town at sunset looking towards a rugged mountain in the background

If you want a November honeymoon with a bit of everything, South Africa ticks the right boxes. It’s a country that’s filled with gems – from gorgeous coastal scenery to cities, wine estates and bucket list safaris.

I fell in love with South Africa when I visited and can safely say it would make an epic honeymoon destination. Granted, it’s one you’ll likely need two or more weeks for, but if you want a once-in-a-lifetime getaway, this is it!

As a country in the southern hemisphere, November is the perfect time for gorgeous spring weather in South Africa. It’s also a good time for a safari in the Eastern Cape.

My recommendation for a November honeymoon to South Africa is a Garden Route road trip from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). It’s South Africa’s most famous drive and takes in breathtaking scenery.

2 Maldives

Dreaming of a luxury, paradise honeymoon? Lucky for you – the Maldives is a fab honeymoon destination in November! This month sees the country coming out of its rainy season and transitioning into its peak, dry months.

If all you want to do is kick back, relax and indulge in your own slice of heaven, Maldives has you covered in November. You might get a few rainy days, but you can still expect sunshine and temperatures around 27-30ºC.

Although it’s the start of the tourist season, November can be a little quieter than Dec-April so you might get cheaper rates, too. It’s a great option if you have your eye on those overwater villas!

3 Mauritius

A tropical beach resort in Mauritius with palm trees set in front of a towering, dramatic mountain

Like the Maldives, Mauritius is synonymous with honeymoons. This is a tropical island that has everything you could want from a paradise beach getaway!

If you’re honeymooning in early November, Mauritius is a brilliant option. This month marks the start of summer on the island and is one of the best months to visit. Admittedly it’s when rainfall and humidity start to increase – but it’s usually just a few showers and it’s a time of year when you’ll get more sunshine!

Your days here will be lovely and hot (around 26-29ºC) so it’s the perfect time for enjoying the beach. It’s also one of the best times for snorkelling and scuba diving.

In my opinion, Mauritius has a lot more to see and do than somewhere like the Maldives. With lush jungle, nature reserves and cultural sites to take in, it’s a great choice if you want a tropical getaway that has more than just the beach.

4 Seychelles

The Seychelles is another Indian Ocean island that feels like it was made for honeymooners.

Like the Maldives, the Seychelles is made up of many islands. But, it’s also a lush setting filled with wildlife and nature reserves that are great for hiking and exploring. It’s also a perfect destination for snorkelling and island hopping in November!

The Maldives and Seychelles also have opposite dry seasons… but November is a shoulder month that works well for both.

My recommendation is to honeymoon early in November in the Seychelles for the best weather – you should get a postcard setting with sunshine and temperatures around 28-30ºC.

5 Morocco

A traditional Moroccan town set in the desert

Want something a little different for your honeymoon? If culture and adventure is more your thing, Morocco makes an amazing November honeymoon destination.

Autumn and spring are some of the best times to visit Morocco so November fits in perfectly. This is a month when tourist numbers are lower and prices can be cheaper. It’s also when you’ll get mild weather rather than the stifling heat of summer!

Places like Marrakech can still reach the low to mid 20ºs in November, while the mountain regions drop to 15ºC – it’s ideal for hiking and adventures. If you’re dreaming of a desert adventure, that’s possible in November, too. You’ll need to prepare for cold nights but you’ll get sunny and pleasant days.

6 Philippines

A beach hut on a tropical white-sand beach in Palawan, Philippines

The Philippines is a bucket list destination that’s overflowing with natural beauty. It’s renowned for its stunning islands and secluded beaches, which are amazing to visit in late November.

This is a month that sees the Philippines move out of monsoon and marks the start of the peak season. Unless you’re unlucky with a tropical storm, the rain is unlikely to affect your plans. Most likely, you’ll get sunny temperatures of 30ºC!

Some of the best places to visit in the Philippines are Palawan and Boracay. They’re scenic, romantic and all kinds of perfect.

You’ll be able to enjoy the dreamiest accommodation, from luxury resorts to cosy beachside villas and overwater bungalows. It’s no wonder it’s one of Southeast Asia’s top honeymoon spots!

Where to stay: Shangri-La Boracay

7 Thailand

Several traditional longtail boats on a tropical beach in Thailand

Jaw-dropping scenery, mouth-watering food, fascinating culture… check, check, check! Thailand has SO much to fall in love with. It’s one of my favourite destinations and makes a perfect November honeymoon.

Thailand’s peak season starts this month so it’s easily one of the best November honeymoon destinations.

If you’re after adventure and lush mountainous scenery, you’ll probably love the northern regions like Chiang Mai and Pai. However, my top choice for a honeymoon would be to head south to the islands.

RELATED: Bali or Thailand: Which is Better?

You’ll want to avoid Koh Samui which has its own rainy season, but everywhere else is brilliant in November. A good choice is Krabi – this is where you’ll find insanely beautiful scenery with craggy limestone cliffs, sugar sand beaches and palm trees.

Koh Chang and Koh Kood are other beautiful places for a honeymoon that feel slightly quieter and more authentic. You could also consider Koh Lipe – it’s on my list for next time I visit Thailand!

Where to stay: The Retreat, Koh Chang

8 Vietnam

A traditional boat and limestone cliffs in Vietnam's Ha Long Bay

November is one of the best times to visit Vietnam so it’s a brilliant choice to add to your list. With beautiful beaches, rural scenery and incredible cities, there’s lots to love about this country.

If you have several weeks to spare for your honeymoon, you could visit multiple locations and turn it into a big adventure. Some of the best places to explore include Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Hanoi and Sapa.

Equally, if you just want R&R, Vietnam is still a fab choice. Some of the country’s best beach destinations are Phu Quoc and Con Dao, where you’ll find gorgeous honeymoon resorts.

Where to stay: Six Senses Con Dao

9 Australia

A paradise, white-sand beach in the Whitsundays in Australia

November is the prime time to visit Australia – so if you’ve never been before, why not go here for your honeymoon?! This country is such a bucket list place and has so much for newlyweds to love.

I get that it’s a long way to travel for a lot of people. BUT, if you have 2 or more weeks for your honeymoon, it’s got to be a top contender.

Renting a car is one of the best options for exploring Australia. The east coast route from Sydney to Cairns is a classic choice, but a shorter stretch is fab if you’re limited on time.

If you want to base yourself in one place, I recommend Queensland and the Whitsunday Islands. This is a tropical paradise – Whitehaven Beach, with its pristine sands and crystal-clear waters, is like something out of a dream!

Surrounded by tropical beauty and just a stone’s throw from the Great Barrier Reef, these islands are lovely in November.

10 New Zealand

A viewpoint looking out over forest landscape, turquoise lakes and mountains in New Zealand

Most people I know have New Zealand on their bucket list – and for good reason! This country is packed with beautiful places and unique experiences. If you want an adventure honeymoon – you definitely want to consider it.

Because it’s in the southern hemisphere, November is late spring in New Zealand so it’s a lovely time for exploring. The temperature will vary from the north to south, but you’ll generally get mild weather that makes it ideal for outdoor pursuits.

There’s so much to see and do in New Zealand that it can feel daunting planning a trip. Unless you have plenty of time for your honeymoon, you’ll probably want to pick one island to focus on. But wherever you decide to go, you’re in for a treat, I promise!

11 Fiji

An empty tropical beach in Fiji with yellow kayaks on the sand beneath palm trees

If you’ve read any of my other posts, you’ll know I love Fiji. It’s a postcard-perfect country that has all the paradise vibes. It’s also a really romantic destination so it’s no wonder newlyweds love it!

November is technically the start of the wet season in Fiji but it’s still considered a good time to go. Not only is it likely that you’ll still get good weather (especially at the start of the month), but you’ll get fewer crowds and cheaper prices!

The rain in Fiji is generally in short bursts and followed by sunny spells – so you’ll still be able to live your best island life in November! The weather is also a little hotter this month (around 30ºC) with gloriously warm sea.

The Mamanuca Islands are known for having the driest climate so this is a good bet for your November honeymoon. It’s also where you’ll find a lot of Fiji’s best island resorts

12 French Polynesia

A view towards turquoise tropical seas with overwater bungalows in French Polynesia

Home to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora, French Polynesia has postcard scenery down to a T. It’s one of the world’s most desirable destinations and has everything you need for a romantic escape.

Like Fiji, French Polynesia is entering its rainy season in November, but that’s not a reason to dismiss it. Yes, it’ll be humid and you might get random downpours, but there’ll be sunshine, too (especially at the start of the month).

Because it’s more of a transitional month, you might find lower prices too. It’s perfect if you want to stay in an iconic overwater bungalow!

Where to stay: Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora

13 St Lucia

A tropical bay in St Lucia with sailing boats and lush jungle scenery

There’s a reason why so many couples honeymoon in the Caribbean. This beautiful region has some of the world’s most romantic, postcard settings.

St Lucia is one of my favourite picks for newlyweds. It’s one of the best Caribbean islands for couples and is one of the most picturesque. You’ll also find gorgeous secluded hotels and a ton of romantic experiences.

November is the last month of the Caribbean’s official hurricane season and sees a move into the peak, dry months. Luckily, St Lucia has a low risk of hurricanes and even though rain is possible in November, the frequency decreases as the month goes on so it’s still considered a good time to go.

A lot of travellers say the rain doesn’t significantly impact their experience. So if you’re hoping to avoid crowds and get a better deal, this could be perfect for you!

Where to stay: Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort

14 Barbados

An empty white-sand beach with palm trees, greenery and calm sea on a sunny day in Barbados

Another Caribbean island that I love is Barbados. This is an island that people return to time and time again – and there’s a good reason for it! As well as having some of the Caribbean’s best beaches, Barbados offers lots to see and do.

If all you want to do is spend your days on the beach, obviously it’s perfect. You’ll also get incredible snorkelling and scuba diving in Barbados as well as experiences like off-road safaris, hiking, plantation trips, food tours and rum tasting.

Like other parts of the Caribbean, November is a shoulder month in Barbados. This does mean there’s some chance of rain, but it shouldn’t stop you planning a trip. I went to Barbados in August (in the middle of the wet season!) and even then it was sunny every day. So for me – November sounds perfect!

Where to stay: St Peter’s Bay Luxury Resort and Residences

15 Caribbean Coast, Mexico

A woman (me!) looking towards a Mayan ruin on the tropical coast of Tulum in Mexico

It’s not hard to see why Mexico is so popular with newlyweds. It has everything you need for a paradise escape with five-star resorts and super romantic settings.

If you want the most relaxing honeymoon, Mexico’s Caribbean Coast is my top option – especially in November. This is a month when rainfall starts decreasing so you can expect sunny days with temperatures around 28ºC. Because it’s the tail end of the wet season, prices can be lower, too!

With so many great places to stay, it’s one of my favourite all-inclusive honeymoon destinations in November. We stayed at Royalton Riviera Cancun for 10 days (albeit in Feb) and it was absolute bliss. I can highly recommend having it as one of your choices!

Where to stay: Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

16 Costa Rica

An empty tropical beach on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica

Costa Rica has some of the most sensational scenery with rainforests, volcanoes and palm-fringed beaches. It’s a gorgeous setting for a honeymoon and luckily it’s a great place to visit in November!

The climate varies across regions in Costa Rica but the Northern Pacific coast is the driest at this time of year. Admittedly, the weather in Costa Rica can be hit and miss. However, November is when the country is transitioning out of its rainy season so it’s better than the preceding months.

If you’re a nature lover, it’s also an amazing month for taking in the scenery. The landscapes, national parks and jungle will be lush and green from all the previous months’ rain! It’s a beautiful time to visit!

Where to stay: Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo

17 USA

A view towards modern skyscrapers in New York City surrounded by autumnal trees and greenery

Whether you live locally and want a minimoon, or you’re travelling from abroad, there are so many places in the US for a romantic break. Even though November might not seem the ideal time to visit, there are plenty of options to fall in love with.

Some of my favourites for a Stateside November honeymoon include New York, Southern California and Vegas. New York is one of my favourite cities and is a brilliant choice for a luxury, urban honeymoon. It’s a month when you’ll get crisp weather and fall foliage, too!

If you want warmer weather, you could also consider Miami or Florida Keys. Hurricane season officially ends on November 30th, but it’s still a popular month for tourism. You can usually expect less rain, sunny days and temperatures in the mid 20sºC.

Where to stay: The Whitby Hotel, New York

18 Hawaii, USA

A road in Hawaii lined with palm trees alongside the coast

I know Hawaii is part of the US, but I wanted to give it its own spot because it feels so different to the mainland states. This gorgeous Pacific island destination is a slice of paradise and is the perfect place for escaping the cold.

As one of the world’s top honeymoon destinations, you can expect warm winter weather in November with daytime temperatures of around 26ºC. It’s also a month when you’ll get fewer crowds and lower prices!

Admittedly, it’s cheaper because it’s the start of the wet season. BUT, rain can be brief and is usually at night (plus I’d argue it adds to the tropical setting!). The rains also vary across the region with the west coasts being drier.

Where to stay: Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea

19 Dubai, United Arab Emirates

A view across Dubai marina towards modern skyscrapers

If you’re dreaming of winter sun, you can’t go wrong with a November honeymoon to Dubai. The winter months are the absolute best time to visit this city when the weather is cooler and a lot more bearable.

As a desert destination, a honeymoon in November will give you dry paradise weather with temperatures around 27ºC. It’s the perfect time for enjoying the beach, but also for exploring the best that this emirate has to offer.

If you want more of an adventure, November is also the perfect time to head into the desert. You’ll get much better temperatures and be able to tick off a bucket list experience!

Where to stay: Jumeirah Al Naseem

20 Oman

A desert pool in Oman surrounded by rugged ravines and palm trees

Oman is unique and enchanting and a fab choice if you want something different for your honeymoon. As a destination that’s known for its rich history and stunning scenery, it’s perfect for a once–in–a–lifetime experience.

In November, you’ll be able to spend your days on white-sand beaches, exploring insanely beautiful landscapes and taking in fascinating cultural sites. You’ll also find luxury hotels that promise all the bucket list goals!

The best time to visit Oman is between October and April so a November honeymoon fits the bill. It’s considered a cooler month but temperatures can be 25-30ºC in November so it’s great for enjoying the sun!

Where to stay: Six Senses Zighy Bay, Alila Jabal Akhdar

21 Brazil

A view across water towards the colonial, coastal town of Paraty in Brazil

One of the top places for a South American honeymoon in November is Brazil. This country is generally good year-round but November marks the late spring / shoulder season with warm temperatures across the country.

As such a huge place, there’s lots you could experience during a Brazil honeymoon. Whether you want beaches, cities or wildlife – this destination’s got you!

Rio de Janeiro is a great city to visit, but you could also explore the pretty town of Paraty and the tropical beaches of the Green Coast. Plus, November is a good time to visit the Amazon if you want a back-to-nature adventure!

Where to stay: Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro, Casa Mar Paraty

22 Argentina

A view towards rugged and dramatic, snow-capped mountains in a national park in Patagonia

Want an epic honeymoon adventure? With vibrant cities and incredible scenery, Argentina ticks a lot of boxes for a unique November honeymoon.

Most couples start their honeymoon in the capital of Buenos Aires which is perfect for sightseeing. But if you want to be wowed, you could head to Mendoza for wine country and Patagonia for jaw-dropping scenery and a hiking paradise.

Patagonia is beyond gorgeous and will give you so many bucket list experiences. November also marks the start of spring here – which means longer, warmer days along with wildflowers adding to the scenery! It’s the perfect time to visit.

Where to stay: The Vines Resort & Spa, Correntoso Lake & River Hotel

23 Iceland

A glacier in Iceland surrounded by mountain scenery

Snowy temperatures, icy lakes and Northern Lights… Iceland is magical in November! Yep, it’s cold and the days will be short, but I still think it’s a worthy contender for a honeymoon in winter.

There’s so much to see and do in Iceland and a lot of the country’s top activities are great in the colder months. From chasing the Aurora Borealis to whale watching, ice caving, snowmobiling and glacier hiking, Iceland’s got you covered!

November is also the perfect month for cosying up as well as relaxing in the warm waters of the Blue Lagoon.

Where to stay: Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel

24  Andalusia, Spain

A traditional, large cathedral in Seville surrounded by orange trees

There aren’t a lot of places with mild winters in Europe, but southern Spain is a good exception. Granted, this isn’t a destination where you’ll get a super hot beach break in November. But, if you want to explore the beauty of the region, it’s definitely a good choice!

Andalusia is known for its super pretty landscapes, orange trees and beautiful architecture. Seville is the major city and it’s an amazing place for a honeymoon. It’s picturesque, vibrant and unique (and has some of the most romantic hotels!).

If you visit Seville in November, you can expect temperatures of around 20ºC so it’s the perfect time for exploring and avoiding the summer crowds.

Where to stay: Hotel Casa Palacio Don Ramón

25 Canary Islands, Spain

A view across a misty mountain landscape towards a volcano in Teide National Park in Tenerife

Thanks to their location off the coast of northwest Africa, the Canary Islands are one of the warmest destinations in Europe. They’re a fab choice for November where you can expect temperatures of around 23ºC.

Tenerife is one of the best Canary Islands – it has incredible scenery with beaches, volcanoes, mountains and the most visited national park in Spain. It’s also the largest and most popular island so you’ll find a great choice of honeymoon hotels.

La Gomera is also a fab option if you want an eco escape in November. This Canary Island is known as the magical island so where better for a honeymoon?! It’s a much less-visited destination that’s filled with dense tropical forests and mountainous landscapes that are perfect for outdoorsy couples.

Where to stay: Royal Garden Villas & Spa

Where to honeymoon in November – final thoughts

There are so many romantic destinations in November for a dream getaway. Not only is it a brilliant month to escape the northern hemisphere’s colder temperatures, but lots of the best places to honeymoon are in their shoulder season so you can benefit from cheaper prices.

Whether you want an epic adventure or a more relaxed beach break, I hope this post has helped you decide where to go.

Save for later!
