Following the scorching heat of summer, October is a great month to honeymoon in Greece. You’ll still get balmy weather that’s ideal for hitting the beach and you’ll benefit from fewer crowds, too.

Some of the best places to honeymoon in Greece include the Cyclades Islands like Mykonos, Santorini and Naxos. The largest island of Crete is also amazing because it has so much to see and do. You could also head to Athens for a gorgeous city break to start your honeymoon.

The peak season in Fiji runs from May to October. This is when you’ll find the best beach weather with less humidity and more sunshine.

It’s also at this time of the year that you can swim with manta rays and make the most of the islands’ incredible coral reefs.

Fiji is one of the best honeymoon destinations in October for doing as much or as little as you’d like. If all you want to do is fly and flop, you can relax at a luxury island beach resort. It’s also a great destination for island hopping if you want a bit more adventure.

If you start your honeymoon in Sydney, you can expect average day temperatures of around 23°C. It’s the best time to see the city without the sweltering heat.

I also recommend heading up the east coast if you have several weeks for an Australian honeymoon. There’s so much to love about Australia – it’s a real bucket list destination so it’s amazing for an unforgettable getaway!

Byron Bay, Brisbane and the Whitsunday Islands are all amazing places to visit in October. You can expect gorgeous weather and perfect temperatures for the beach.

October is one of the best times to visit Italy. This is a month that’s just outside the peak summer season – which means fewer crowds yet still mild weather.

If you want to head to the coast (like Amalfi or Cinque Terre), the tourist season usually runs till the middle of October. So if you honeymoon at the start of the month, you’ll still be able to enjoy beach days and hiking.

If you’re not sure if it’s worth visiting Bali or you want a more authentic experience, you could consider some of the neighbouring islands instead (they’re also great in October).

Lombok is one of the closest islands to Bali and has a similar vibe (minus the crowds). Sumba Island is also lovely – it’s untouched and under-visited.

If you’re dreaming of a South Africa road trip or an action-packed honeymoon, October is also a fab time to explore Cape Town and the Garden Route.

There are loads of brilliant places to explore across French Polynesia. Bora Bora is the vision board spot and has the most incredible honeymoon resorts. It’s the perfect place for relaxation and is absolute travel goals!
