If you honeymoon here, you could start your trip in Auckland on the North Island. Stay in a waterfront hotel and spend your time wandering stylish neighbourhoods, visiting galleries and savouring the city’s vibrant food scene. When you’re ready, Waiheke Island is just a 40-minute ferry ride from Auckland’s harbour.

You can expect a truly indulgent experience in Waiheke, with boutique wineries, olive groves, quiet beaches and private villas overlooking the Pacific. Wine tastings, vineyard lunches and sunset strolls along pristine sands.. you’ll have so many intimate, memorable moments.

16 Solomon Islands

When you think of South Pacific honeymoons the Solomon Islands might not immediately spring to mind. But let me tell you why they should!

The stunning archipelago nation is made up of around 992 islands, atolls and reefs, so it’s the ultimate option for honeymooners seeking seclusion, authenticity and breathtaking natural beauty.

The Solomon Islands are far removed from crowds and overdeveloped resorts, so it offers an intimate, immersive and genuinely special honeymoon experience. 

Couples can snorkel or dive pristine coral reefs, kayak through mangroves, or explore remote islands with hardly another soul in sight. The region is also renowned for world-class wreck diving, while guided rainforest walks and waterfall hikes reveal lush interiors rich in wildlife.

And before you start worrying that there might not be any luxury accommodation on offer, let me reassure you! Luxury resorts are more limited here, compared to places like Bora Bora or Fiji, largely because it’s less developed and less travelled, but there are plenty of amazing places to stay.
